What is CBP Form 4811?

Notification form designating a party to receive refund payments or act as notify party in ACE. In the context of U.S. customs and tariff recovery, understanding cbp form 4811 is essential for navigating the CAPE refund process and ensuring accurate duty assessment.

Definition

CBP Form 4811 is used to designate a Notify Party or assign refund payment rights in the ACE system. Historically submitted as a paper form, CBP's February 2026 modernization moved Form 4811 to an electronic 'Notify Parties' tab within ACE. Brokers can now add a Notify Party directly through the ACE portal interface, eliminating the need for PDF uploads. The designated party receives electronic notifications when refunds are processed.

How CBP Form 4811 Relates to Tariff Refunds

Form 4811 is how your broker ensures you receive refund notifications and payment routing through ACE. When Tariffi's partner broker files your CAPE declaration, they also register the appropriate Notify Party through the electronic 4811 process, ensuring refunds are routed correctly and you receive status updates.

Example

The broker navigates to the Notify Parties tab in ACE and adds the importer's refund-receiving entity. When CBP processes the CAPE declaration, the system automatically notifies the registered party and routes the ACH payment.
